Hellacious Movies Movie Review : DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) is my number one pick for
Top Zombie Film! It is George A. Romeros ultimate zombie masterpiece! It has the winning mix of
horror, gore and comedy! Great acting, I can really connect and emphasize with the stories main
characters! The underlying theme throughout the film is that zombies hangout at the mall because
it was an important place to them when they were alive still rings true in 2011! Tense moments
will have you shouting at the screen and sitting on the edge of your seats! A rock solid gorefest!
George A. Romero understands the human condition, that even in chaos and calamity the importance of
bringing some kind of normalcy back into our lives is of upmost importance to us! And this element of
the story gave us a nice little breather before the next wave of zombies eating flesh hits the screen!
Romero played us like a well worn fiddle! And I loved every gory minute of it!
