Clint Eastwood Movie GRAN TORINO : A cantankerous korean war vet is
forced to face his own racist beliefs when a Hmong family moves in
next door and he finds himself in the position of being their protector!
Hellacious Movies Movie Review : I honestly had no intention of ever renting GRAN TORINO,
the subject of gangs and muscle cars aint my bag! I caught it on tv one evening and there was
nothing else to watch so I begrudgingly put the remote down and watched it with great disdain!
It did not take long for me to surrender and admit that this was another Clint Eastwood triumph!
It was a real treat to see Clint Eastwood as explosive and exciting in his twilight years as he
was back in 1971 playing Dirty Harry! shame on me for writing GRAN TORINO off so easily!
I should have known better, I have never seen a Clint Eastwood flick I didnt like!
While the movie was of a serious nature, it had some carefully placed comedic relief! Walt (Clint Eastwood)
and the Hmong Grandma (Chee Thao) giving each other the evil eye as they sat on their front porches was
Classic! And when Walt spit chewing tobacco and Grandma followed suit I about died laughing!
Bee Vang and Ahney Her gave brilliant performances as the hmong teenagers that won Walts heart!
