Hellacious Movies Movie Review : THE WRESTLER is an interesting movie on many levels! Both
The Ram (Mickey Rourke) and Cassidy (Marisa Tomei) are in professions that are not "aging" friendly!
The Ram couldn't cut it as a husband, and father when he was young and in his prime! The only thing
that he was ever good at was Wrestling! Now that he is forced to abandon Wrestling he finds nothing
but pain and confusion! Everything he attempts to do fails! Like the song in the movie says He's a one
trick pony! A Wrestler that can't wrestle any more become a trickless pony which is by far much worse!
The fact that The Ram (Mickey Rourke) has no problems with his love interest Cassidy (Marisa Tomei)
being a lap dancer at a local night club can be easily explained! Her profession like his own is fake! It's
nothing more than a performance! While the two seem so much alike there is one very big difference
Cassidy was never a one trick pony, she unlike The Ram never walked out of her childs life!
Mickey Rourke's performance was absolutely incredible!
